The Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum from Neostrata launched earlier on in the year and, in skincare terms, this is a big deal. Neostrata is one of most effective skincare brands available and they very rarely launch new products. This can be frustrating for those of us who appreciate the thrill of something new from one of our favourite brands but there’s good reasons why they aren’t launching product after product in quick succession.
Back in May I attended the NeoStrata Symposium which is a conference for aesthetic industry professionals (I was one of a few beauty writers lucky enough to be invited) and while there I got a better understanding about how the brand operates and the process behind each launch. The amount of testing that each product goes through is incredible. Also, Neostrata don’t follow trends or jump on bandwagons – their products originate from advances from in a lab and not a marketing department ideas meeting.
All Neostrata products have to adhere to 3 fundamental formulation pillars which are:
1.To exfoliate the surface layers and enhance skin’s turnover.
2. To be formulated at a bioavailable pH to maximise delivery of our ingredients
3. To target skin’s supportive matrix for long term results.
A big part of the presentation explained how Neostrata only use ingredients that are small enough to penetrate the skin. At times the explanation of the processes used became too scientific and complicated for me to understand. However, one point I did find interesting is that testing is done on individual ingredients, then on the combined ingredients in a single product and lastly on how a product works when added to a routine. Nothing is left to chance.
Back to the Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum which contains a blend of three clinically proven ingredients – AminoFil, Gluconolactone and Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid – that work synergistically to improve skin tone, laxity, plumpness and texture.
Aminofil is a particularly interesting ingredient as it stimulates production of collagen and HA leading to a significant improvement in skin thickness. Gluconolactone is poly-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates without irritation and reduces oxidative damage and skin sensitivity. Low molecular weight HA delivers moisture and supports the collagen and elastin fibre network.
In a clinical trial there was a 79% improvement in wrinkles and 90% improvement in skin brightness and clarity after 12 weeks of twice daily use of Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum. I haven’t been using it for that long yet but my skin definitely feels firmer and generally healthier.
Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum has been shortlisted for the Aesthetics Skin Product of the Year 2018 and I can’t think of a serum launched in the past 12 months that has impressed me more.
Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum is available for £75 from EffortlessSkin.
