While not all the beauty products I use are season related there is a shift in what I find myself reaching for once the weather warms up. Generally, I find that I like light-weight products either in terms of texture/formula or actual weight (as in easy to carry around). When it’s humid the last thing I want is too much heaviness on my skin or to be lugging a weighty load around with me.
Uriage Eau Thermale – This is a mineral water mist that cools and refreshes. The difference between this and other mineral sprays is that its mineral content is 52 times richer than other thermal water brands available in the UK. It’s bottled at source from the bottom of the French alps and really helps to condition and hydrate the skin. I find it has a much softer feel to it that the other water sprays that I’ve used before. Uriage is new to the UK and includes lots of functional and problem solving products that are great for sensitive/reactive skin types. Currently it’s exclusive to John Bell & Croyden.
Hylamide Hydra Density Mist – This is another mist that’s supposed to be used after cleansing and before serums. However, I’ve often been using it in place of a serum or over the top of my skincare during the day. Mists are a great way to perk up skin when the weather’s sticky and this one has some impressive ingredients that hydrate, soothe and calm. Also, at £15, it’s a good price and available from HERE.
Exuviance Total Correct & Sculpt Serum – Ingredients wise this packs a real punch but has a light consistency that feels weightless on the skin. It combines NeoGlucosamine to encourage cell turnover, Vitamin C to brighten and Aminofil to boost collagen production. Exvuiance is a sister brand to NeoStrata, one of my all time favourite skincare brands, and utilises the same advanced research and hi-tech ingredients. The best price I’ve spotted it for is £54.84 from SkinOracle.
Phyto Plage Protective Sun Veil – This is a multi-use product that shields and protects hair from sun, sea and chlorine while making it smell nice but without making it greasy or lank. I’ve been using this mainly to prevent the sun fading the colour from hair and drying it out. I spend rather a lot of money getting my hair coloured so using this is a quick and easy way to keep those results. It’s £15 from John Bell & Croyden.
No7 Stay Perfect Eye Trio Eye Shadow & Lash Impact Waterproof Mascara – No7 have re-formulated their eye shadows so they’re now even more soft and well-pigmented than before. While they come in singles and palettes it’s the trios I love as they’re so neat, compact and light to carry around. The colour combinations are great too and I’ve now got my eyes on the Emerald Stones one. I’ve also been relying on the new Lash Imperfect Waterproof Mascara for beefed up lashes that don’t smudge regardless of the circumstances. The Lash Impact Ultra Mascara is good too but I prefer the assurance of waterproof. Pretty packaging too!. The eyeshadow trios are £10 as are the mascaras but they’re also part of a 3 for 2 offer.
