The new H2 Elemental Energy Firming Foam Mask by Perricone MD was listed as one of the best beauty products for Summer 2017 by Lesley Thomas in The Times recently and I couldn’t disagree with that. In fact I’d go further and say that the whole H2 Elemental Energy range is my favourite new skincare launch so far this year.
H2 or Hydrogen is the smallest molecule and studies have shown that drinking and bathing in H2 infused water prevents photo aging, acts against free radicals and can reduce wrinkles. However, it’s previously not been possible to utilise H2 for skincare but now Perricone MD have developed the H2 Energy Complex which means stable and absorbable H2 can be added to products..
The range is for normal to dry skin and, as well as having an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effect on the skin, they’re extremely hydrating. All the products are very light weight and absorb instantly so if you prefer heavy creams that you can feel sitting on the skin this range probably isn’t for you. However, if you have the type of skin that drinks up Hyulronic Acid serums and you prefer deep hydration then these products will be perfect.
These are the products…
H2 Elemental Energy Firming Foam Mask – £48
This comes out as a pale yellow gel that quickly turns white as you smooth it over your face. It then grows to a white foam and you get a slight tickling and tingling sensation as it does its work. As well as the H2 Complex it contains Microalgae and Cooling Moisture Complex. I think masks should give skin an instant boost and this does that really well. It made my skin look smoother, firmer and generally more refreshed. I also have a sample of the Dior Capture Dreamskin Mask and this Perricone MD one gives visibly superior results.
H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum – £80
This my favourite product in the range. It’s spreads easily, absorbs instantly and doesn’t leave a tacky residue like a lot of hydrating serums. I find it soothing and it makes my complexion just look better generally. It contains fermented yeast extract and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid along with the H2 Energy Complex. It is expensive but, in my view, its quality and effectiveness is more than a match for its price.
H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream – £69
I love the name of this product and it is indeed light, airy and cloud-like. Despite it’s lightweight texture it packs a punch in the hydrating department and pairs perfectly with the Booster Serum. Like the serum, it absorbs completely so it feels like you skin is being hydrated at a deeper level and not just the surface. As well as the Energy Complex it contains red micoralgae and humectants.
H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel – £60
I don’t have particularly puffy eyes so I can’t comment on how well it de-puffs. However, I find it soothing and hydrating. It also makes the whole eye area look fresher. It perks up the eyes rather than giving them that heavy feel that can result from using richer creams. Along with the Energy Complex it contains oat kernel extract, diffusion pigments and peptides.
Also available is the Advanced Renewal Infusion Serum which comes as 4 vials that you use for a month 3/4 times a year and this contains the most concentrated form of the H2 Energy Complex.
All the products are available HERE but I highly recommend the Hydration Prescription set which includes all the products I’ve reviewed (not incl. the Advanced Renewal Infusion Serum) for £180 which is 30% off what they’d be if bought individually.
