The term, Age Defence Retinol Day Moisturiser SPF 30, might set alarm bells ringing because there’s an assumption that retinol should only be used at night as it makes skin more sensitive to the sun. However, this is a myth and not only is it safe to use retinol during the day, it’s actually of great benefit. This is because retinol absorbs UVB rays so it plays a protective and preventive role against photo ageing. Additionally, it acts as a cell communicator telling them to act in a healthy way and produce more collagen which of course leads to less wrinkles and a more even tone.
Other ingredients included in Hydrate and Nourish by MZ Skin that make it such a lovely product are Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides and Kahai Oil. I hadn’t heard of Kahai Oil before but it’s extracted from nuts that come from the Amazonian Cacay Tree. It’s rich in Linoleic Acid and has 50% more Vitamin E than Argan Oil.
With these ingredients, it’s probably no surprise to hear that this product more than earns its ‘Hydrate & Nourish’ name. It absorbs quickly and makes my skin feel soft, supple and plump and eradicates any feeling of dryness. The gorgeous packaging, luscious texture combined with the clinically proven ingredients means using it really is an all-round premium experience. My only word of caution is that it might be too rich for those with very oily or acniec skin.
