In a couple of weeks time I turn 47 (almost 50!) so ageing has been on my mind a lot recently. The conclusion I’ve come to is that getting older doesn’t mean the same as what it used to. The expectation that we stop being interested in the things we associate with being young no longer exists. I certainly have the same passion for clothes, music, going out etc. as I’ve always had. Basically, we’re as contemporary and relevant as younger women and we lead busy and fulfilling lives.
However, while we’re realistic enough to know that we can’t look the same as we did 20 years ago, we want to look like the best version of ourselves now and key skincare choices can go a long way in helping with that. I’ve been using the Lift & Luminate (L&L) Serum since it launched last year (I’ve included it in my 2016 favourites post HERE) as it’s clinically proven to address the three most important signs of ageing – wrinkles, firmness and tone. It’s also really nice to use and competitively priced.
Now, the range is being extended to include an updated Day Cream, Night Cream and Eye Cream which is great news. All 3 new products contain the same Triple Action Technology as the serum and when you combine all 4 products it’s been clinically proven that the anti-ageing results really are #BetterTogether. In fact, a massive 88% of women saw even better results when using the Triple Action L&L Day Cream with the L&L Serum in just 2 weeks.
All 4 products have their own important role to play in protecting and repairing the skin but they’ve also been formulated to work synergistically (or #BetterTogether) to boost performance. Basically, it works out as the sum being greater than the parts. Also, having a complete skincare routine you can trust to tackle all our skin concerns takes away the guesswork.
No7 is the no.1 serum brand and themain reason their serums have become so popular is one of the greatest stories in the history of skincare. In 2007, a BBC2 Horizon programme on the cosmetic industry proved in clinical trials that the No7 Protect & Perfect Serum could repair photo-aged skin and improve the fine wrinkles. Sales of No7 serums have been growing ever since.
Another reason why I think No7 is so popular is that they ‘get’ us, their customers. They realise we come in all in all ages, shapes and colours and that beauty isn’t just about looking good but about feeling confident. Personally, I’ve never felt patronised by a No7 advert and I like that they don’t use 20-year-old models to promote skincare aimed at those over 40.
Since the big breakthrough in 2007, No7 has kept advancing the formula of their serums and carrying out more trials to great success. The Triple Action Lift & Luminate range is formulated particularly for those of us over 40 and contains Matrixyl 3000 Plus which is No7’s powerful peptide blend and helps skin look more youthful. This is supported by Hyaluronic Acid (for skin-firming), Hibiscus Extract (more peptides and amino acids for collagen production) and Lightening Complex (for an even tone).
I’ve only just started using the new Triple Action Lift & Luminate products but my initial impression is that the textures are elegant and they sit well with the serum which I’ve already been using for the past 8+ months. In about 4 weeks I’ll be back with a more in depth report on how my skin responded to the full range of products. At the same time, 9 other fab bloggers over 40 will also be trying out the complete range and will be sharing how they get on their own sites which I’ve listed below.
On top of that, I have complete sets of products to give away to 5 UK-based readers who want to see #BetterTogether results at the same time as the rest of us. To get your hands on a set, head over to my twitter account. Follow and RT my pinned tweet of this post with the #BetterTogether hashtag and 5 of you will be chosen at random.
The new Triple Action Lift & Luminate products will be available from today onwards. The Serum (30 or 50ml) is £27/34.95, The Day Cream (50ml) is £24.95, The Night Cream (50ml) is £24.95 and The Eye Cream (15ml) is £17. All the products are available on a 2 for 3 promotion.
