Unfortunately, two out of three of these beauty breakthroughs aren’t available to buy yet (they’re on pre-order) and none are shipping to the UK. However, it does look like the brands are looking to change that so hopefully these are all products that we’ll be able to get our hands on next year. Therefore, I thought they were worth writing about as it’s always interesting to know what’s on the horizon.
The Vamp Stamp
Though I’m not a fan of the name Vamp Stamp ( it reminds me too much of ‘tramp stamp’ – the derogatory name given to a tattoo on the base of women’s spine), this is my favourite product of the three. Getting perfectly matching winged eyeliner is near impossible so if it truly works as promised it’s something that meets a real need. The tool has a wing-shaped stamp at each end (one for the right eye and one for left) which you dab into a pot of gel eyeliner and then apply to the corner of each eye for a precise flick. There are currently two versions – a medium and large – and I’m hoping they’ll introduce a small for a more subtle look. The brand also has plans to launch an eyeliner, Vink, to use with the tool. The Vamp Stamp is $25 and is shipping early 2017 in the US. You can pre-order HERE.
Magnetic Eyelash Extensions
The One Two Lashes are reusable falsies that stay on using magnetics. It’s taken me a while to get my head round this but basically you use two strips of lashes on each eye. Each strip has a magnetic element that holds them together with one strip going below your lashes and one above. There are different versions of the strips available for different looks – Original, Bold, Accent and Filler – but all the strips are short and are for the outer corners of the eyes. I assume that anything longer would require bigger magnets and this would be too heavy to wear. Though I love the idea of glue-free false lashes I’m not sure these will be any easier to apply. There’s a few instructional videos on the site and they do say that once you’ve learnt the technique the lashes can be applied in seconds. The sets are $69 and available HERE. There’s an international shipping waiting list HERE.
The biggest perfume related question of all time is ‘how do I make my scent last longer?”. The founders of Fragrance Lock have answered this by creating a spray that you use on top of your fragrance to increase its staying power. They claim that 84.3% of testers of the product said their scent lasted twice as long as normal. The spray is applied after your fragrance has dried and it creates a breathable mesh over skin that ‘traps’ the fragrance and slows down the rate it evaporates. The brand say it can be used with all types of fragrance, it won’t change its smell or irritate the skin. This is clearly a brilliant idea and I can’t wait wait to get a bottle. It’s $30 and is currently available HERE to those in the US.
