At the beginning of the year I wrote about the renewed trend for lip plumping products and Fillerina Lip Volume was one of the products I was particularly thinking of. Therefore, I was pleased to get the opportunity to give this next-generation lip enhancer a try.
The lip plumpers that were popular in the past used ingredients such as chilli to swell the lips. Fillerina uses multiple different types of Hyaluronic Acid, the skincare ingredient that’s become ubiquitous in recent years as it’s such an effective moisturising agent. It’s also naturally occurring in the body but levels decline with age.
Fillerina Lip Volume uses Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in varying molecular weights so they have the ability to penetrate to different layers in the skin:
The lowest molecular weight HA penetrates the deepest and this promotes lip volume.
The medium molecular weight HA goes to the deep and middle skin layers for both firmness and volume.
The high molecular weight HA penetrates the surface layers and this improves firmness and tone.
Fillerina Lip Volume has a rollerball applicator so it’s very easy to apply. You click the bottom of the pen several times to release the product from the middle chamber. I assume it’s been designed in this way to keep the product fresh. The clicker gives an accurate amount to be used each time and there’s no waste. I really like how the pen is clear so you can see how much is left.
For best results it’s recommended that you use Fillerina Lip Volume several times a day. I found it good to use a lip balm over the top as I felt it help to seal in the HA.
After a few weeks of using, my lips looked subtly more voluminous but the biggest improvement has been to my lip lines which have reduced considerably.
Filerina Lip Volume comes in two doses with Dosage 2 having a higher concentration of actives ingredients than Dosage 1. I used Dosage 1 so maybe I would have got even better results from Dosage 2 bearing in mind that I am 46 years old and an ex smoker.
