When it comes to treating my ridiculously frizz-prone hair I haven’t found anything that works as well as the John Frieda Frizz Ease range and the 10 Day Tamer is their best product yet. The effects wear off after about 8 days on my hair so it doesn’t quite live up to it’s 10 day claim but I’m more than happy with 8 frizz-free days. It’s also really quick and easy to use which is a big plus. Despite best intentions, I tend to give up on beauty products that require more than minimum effort.
Frizz Ease 10 Day Tamer makes my hair significantly sleeker. I think it’s worth pointing out that this is not a hair straighter and can be used on curly and wavy hair as well. What it does do is smooth down the hair shaft so hair looks silkier and shiny as light can bounce of it more easily. However, it does make it a lot easier to get hair straight and stay that way when used with a hairdryer and/or straighteners.
The 10 Day Tamer is a pre-shampoo treatment that’s applied on dry hair for 10 mins. You then rinse and shampoo and condition as normal. It’s recommended that you use a Frizz-Ease shampoo and conditioner but I used different ones. However, I did use it with and without the the Forever Smooth Blow Dry Styling Spray and I got better results with it. It really seemed to enhance the anti-frizz effect, especially between washes.
An unexpected consequence of 10 Day Tamer was that I didn’t need to wash my hair so often. Basically, I got an extra couple of days between washes. On the one hand this was really useful but as you need to wash your hair 5 times between applications of 10 Day Tamer I couldn’t apply it again straight away after the frizz returned.
The suggested amount per application is about half the bottle but I got 3 uses out of mine and I have just below shoulder length hair.
The 10 Day Tamer is one of those products that you really appreciate once the effects wear off as you then realise what a difference it was making.
10 Day Tamer is normally £12.99 and the Forever Smooth Blow Dry Styling Spray is £7.99 but there’s currently a 1/3 off all the Frizz Ease range at Boots HERE.
