After a gap of many years, I’ve recently got into painting my nails again. So when a friend asked what she could bring me back from a trip to NY it had to be some of the new Chanel Longwear Nail Colours and Le Gel top coat.
The range, which I believe is replacing the existing collection, is made up of 10 new colours and 5 originals – Ballerina, Particuliere, Vamp, Pirate, and Rouge Noir.
I went for 3 new shades: Gitane – an orange toned red, Camelia – a deep pink and Mythique – a red toned brown.
As well as being long wearing, the new Chanel Le Vernis range is 5-free and contains Bioceramics and Ceramides to protect and condition the nails.
For those the don’t know, 5-free means it does’t contain the potential carcinogens formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde resin and camphor.
Nail polishes often don’t last more than a couple of days on me without chipping so I was really pleased that Chanel Le Vernis Longwear formulas gave me 5 days of pretty much perfect wear. Even by day 7 there weren’t that bad and I could have done a repair job if I wasn’t so keen to try another colour.
I’m not sure if it’s the polish, gel top coat or the combination of the two that gives such good results. The polish is thick and has a stickiness to it which I assume helps it adhere to the nail so solidly. Le Gel is like a thick top coat but doesn’t give a shiny finish as the Sally Hanson one. However, the Sally Hanson one started looking tatty in less than the time on me.
I think the Le Vernis Longwear launch at the end of this month and I’ll definitely be adding to my personal collection!
