The Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Collection for Christmas 2015 deserves to be at the top of everyone’s wish list. These are definitely not products just for the party season and you won’t want to put them away on 1st January 2016. While you’ll be able to do ‘party makeup’ with them, the timeless shades and finishes mean you’ll be reaching for them constantly in the year a head.
The centrepiece of the collection is Sterling Nights Eye Palette. I literally let slip a squeal of delight when I first saw it. The compact reminds me of a 1920’s cigarette case. The curved lines, black and silver and perfect proportions make it a design classic. It’s also reassuringly weighty and has a magnetic closure that snaps shut in a very satisfying way.
Of course, as lovely as the compact is, it’s the shades inside that really make this palette special. There are 9 in total in a variety of finishes, all of them highly wearable and flattering. The gauntlet runs from Ivory to Caviar, which works really well as a liner. My favourite is Pewter Chrome which is a metallic green gold.
Sticking with the eyes, the Sequin Eye Shadow singles are marbled jewels that have the intensity that you get from baked shadows along with striking shimmer. They are 4 shades and each comes in its own neat and mirrored compact. I’ve Moon Rock which is a combination of midnight blue and copper/gold. It’s possible to pick out each shade but I think swirling a brush over both gives the best effect.

Lastly, is the Shimmer Brick in Pink. This isn’t actually part of the Sterling Nights Collection but it is limited edition. As you can see for yourself from the images below, this is the epitome of pretty. The Shimmer Bricks are highlighters that add radiance to wherever they’re applied (cheeks, corners of the eye, under the brow and above the cupid’s bow) which, in turn, brightens up the whole face. A sweep over all the shades results in a pale iridescent pink that can be lightly applied or built up depending on the effect you want.
Sterling Nights Eye Palette is £59
