Redness on the face is often the biggest holdback when trying to achieve a natural, even toned complexion. The redness on my face is due to broken capillaries around my nose and occasional cheek flushing. Of course, my spots are also red as are the annoying marks they leave behind.
I’ve been trying out a new product that tackles this problem head-on. ReCover Correct & Conceal Red is highly pigmented but super thin in consistency so you get great coverage without your makeup looking thick and cakey.
It’s been created by makeup artist Annabel Jardella who’s used her professional expertise to develop a concealer range and Correct & Conceal Red is her first launch. It’s been formulated with yellow-based pigments to neutralise the red without draining the natural colour from the face.
I’ve had very good results from Correct & Conceal Red on my cheeks, around my nose and the marks left from spots. A pinhead amount of product will spread out to cover an area many times that size and it really does eradicate redness. I prefer to use it under foundation but it can be used over foundation and for on-the-go touch ups. It can even be used all over the face as a light base.
I found it too thin to work really well as a concealer on active spots. Also, Correct & Conceal Red is not an under eye concealer as it would be too drying and it has the wrong colour correcting properties for this area. Recover plan to launch a dedicated under eye product soon which I really look forward to trying.
Correct & Conceal Red comes in an airless pump dispenser with a 23kt gold plated nib. Both these features help keep the product inside fresh and the nib clean so while it hikes up the overall price I think it’s worth it. There are currently 5 shades in the range.
The best way to judge if Correct & Conceal Red is for you is to grab yourself a pre-launch sample tube (as seen in the main image) which you can get from the ReCover site. When it goes on sale later this month it will be £28 for 5ml and you’ll be able to buy it HERE.This post contains press samples unless otherwise stated.
