The trend for metallic gold makeup is with us. It’s being driven by legendary make up artist Pat Mcgrath who’s eponymous makeup range is launching with multi-purpose gold product. She used it on the lips at the Prada SS16 show and the beauty press have gone wild for it.
There’s been no indication if or when the forthcoming Pat Mcgrath product will be available in the UK so if you fancy having a pot of gold to play with right now I can highly recommend Facelight by Beauty Is Life.
I’m really enjoying using mine which proves that you’re never too old to have fun and experiment with new make up trends.
Facelight is also very much a multi-purpose product and can be used in the following ways:
1. For the eyes as an eyeliner or eyeshadow either on its own or mixed with another shade. A dab to the centre of a made up eyelid looks especially striking and pretty.
2. On the lips as a full colour (if you’re feeling bold) or to create an ombre effect. Again, a dab can be applied in the centre of the lips on top of a more traditional lipstick/gloss for extra dimension.
3. As a highlighter on the cheek bones, under the brows and the corner of eye.
You can vary the intensity of the product really well. It can be used to full effect on the eyes but then spreads thinly and evenly when applied as a subtle highlighter. It also sets on the skin so has great staying power.
Yassira from Sable Beauty is gaining quite a reputation for bringing innovative beauty brands (Stiks, Troi Ollivierre) to the UK and Beauty is Life is a great addition to the Sable Beaty stable. It was founded by german makeup artist, image consultant and dermatologist, Beatrix Isabel Lied, and is gaining fans worldwide thanks to the deeply pigmented, professional quality products. Being stocked by Barneys NY hasn’t harmed Beauty Is Life’s reputation as a hot cult beauty brand.
Facelight is £22 and is also available in silver. Both shades are available HERE.This post contains press samples unless otherwise stated. Please visit my Disclosure page for more information
