The La Roche Posay Anthelios AOX Daily Antioxidant Serum with Sunscreen is an amazing product and like nothing I’ve tried before. It has the consistency of a very light lotion that glides on easily and leaves skin feeling smooth and non-tacky. The reason this is so remarkable is that this serum has a SPF 50. The only giveaway is the slight sunscreen smell but apart from that you wouldn’t suspect this as being a sun protection product at all.
Other ingredients include powerful antioxidants such as Baicalin (a flavonoid), Vitamin Cg (vit c combined with glucose that releases slowly) and vitamin E. All these combine to help protect skin from free radicals caused by UV rays.
Anthelios AOX is so unobtrusive that I often use it under other SPF’s for a belt and braces approach to sun protection on hot days. Doing this doesn’t increase the SPF number put fortifies my protection. For example, if I apply an SPF 50 product followed by another SPF 50 the protection I’d still have SPF 50 protection and not SPF 100.
In short, this is a great product for those who don’t normally wear a high SPF because they don’t like the feel of them or for those, like me, who like to layer their sun protection. The only problem with this product is that it’s currently only available in the US. I spotted it in a recent issue of Allure and I managed to order a bottle from ebay. I raced through it and I’m now on my second bottle which I got from this seller on Amazon. It cost $37.28 incl. p&p. The rrp is $42.50 so I don’t feel I’m paying over the odds for it.
When my first bottle of Anthelios AOX finished I took it apart to try and get the last drops out and discovered that there was a vacuum bag inside the bottle and the bottle itself was coated. Both these elements help keep the serum fresh and active and I’m really impressed that La Roche Posay are taking such steps.
My fingers are crossed that La Roche Posay decide to launch Anthelios AOX in the UK very soon.

I’ve been trying out a few other LRP products that aren’t available in the UK that you should be able to pick up in Europe or the US and/or buy them online. Also look out for the LRP makeup range which has been specially formulated for those with sensitive skin.
